First, I would like to point out that Michelle Wie has won her first LPGA event, making Nostrapossumus’ prediction about her ring true– if the LPGA can keep enough events on the schedule for her career to play out. Also, Ray Rice is surpassing even the Possum’s predicted numbers, becoming one of the NFL’s most impressive weapons. The Dolphins, likewise, are verifying predictions, as they struggle to match the magic of last year. Additionally, Alabama is on its way to the predicted showdown with Florida, where the Tide will, indeed, roll over Tebow and the gang. And, in a small preliminary sample, Psycho-T is on his way to “totally be another Laettner.” In 4 games (15 mins. per) Hansbrough is averaging about 8 and 4; in the years that Laettner was getting 30 mins a game, he got about 16 and 8. Once Indiana gets decimated by injuries (like they always do) and Pyscho gets some PT, he will get the Christian-like numbers.
Now, to newer visions, that came upon me as I ate some “Hot”-flavored potato chips:
1) Steve Nash will finish either 1 or 2 in the NBA MVP race. With the run-and-gun back in Phoenix, Nash will continue to post impressive numbers in relatively short minutes and will garner acclaim from those who are all about “value to team” over Most Outstanding Player. It is unclear whether current fence-sitters will push him over the top, but rest assured, he will be right there.

2) Clemson will beat Georgia Tech in the ACC championship game to reach its first BCS bowl in a Tiger’s age. Too much Spiller in this match-up. Look for Spiller to get into the Heisman race but fall short.

3) In short-term news, The New England Patriots (who are not performing up to the Possum’s expectations – I think I was sick when I made that predic) will take out their frustrations on the NY Jets this week. Look for a beatdown, 2007 -style.
The stars are cloudy beyond that, but I have half a bag of chips left, so who knows what else will materialize…
